Typical greek coffee place in the centre of a small village up a hill. Old marble cobble stones as paving surrounded by trees which give shade even high noon. Good coffee and nice Mezedes. A nice surprise after a very steep an narrow way up.

We decided to stop in the town of Geraki after our tour of the archaeological site of Geraki (a wonderful, beautiful — and free — site, by the way). It looked really pretty from the old castle. We were not disappointed. This cafe on the town's plateia is lovely. The waitress didn't speak much English, so all she could offer us for lunch was the big plate or the small plate. We split the big plate: cold meatballs, a sort of pork goulash, a local style of potato salad, and some ripped pieces of crusty bread drizzled with olive oil. Outstanding quality and flavor. As good as anything we've had in Greece. Add 2 drinks, and the total bill was 16€. This is the hidden gem, local experience that we all dream of. Desperately searching for something to eat for lunch in town, we stumbled upon this bar, one of the very few open. With a bit of luck, we managed to communicate in English, and they prepared two very classic but delicious and well-toasted sandwiches for us, along with two large glasses of water. For €4 in total, we managed just fine and saved our lunch. Very kind and helpful. Glad we stumbled upon it. Ciao!
